Ricky Hatton Biography

Ricky Hatton is a former professional boxer who is also known as the Hitman. He hails from Britain and was born on the October 6th in the year 1978. He was born Stockport Greater Manchester and his family owns a carpet business. He joined the family carpet business for some time but later on he started training in boxing at a local club in Hyde and he still trains sometimes at that club. Becoming a professional boxer had been his childhood dream and hence he trained very hard to realize his dreams. A career in boxing is not something everyone aspires as the game is very injury prone and some injuries can even be life threatening. But Ricky took on the challenge head on and chased in dreams without any inhibitions.

Ricky Hatton started his career in the light welterweight division where he made a great start defeating a very experienced Australian boxer; the match lasted for several rounds but ultimately Hatton emerged victorious. This victory laid the foundation for him to move into the world of professional wrestling. After this victory Hatton earned quite a reputation for his never say die attitude and positivity. Even when the match is almost beyond him, he never gives up and that is what makes him such a treat to watch.

His next victory came in the welterweight division when he was pitted against Collazo. Collazo was a better fighter in every respect and was even a bit heavier that Hatton, he made early inroad in the match by knocking him down. Later Ricky Hatton took a tough beating and could not counter the slick southpaw’s powerful blows. Eventually he fought back into the game and emerged victorious though some experts believe that the match should have gone in favor of Collazo.

After this historic win in the welterweight division, Ricky Hatton again lost some weight in order to get back to the light welterweight division where he won a lot of matches and enjoyed an extended winning streak. At the end of his professional boxing career he also made appearances as commentator and expert analyst in some important matches. Later on he started his own business and was always on the lookout for young talents in boxing. He gives these young players the backing that they need and also promotes them so that they can be established in the world of professional boxing.
